mr consultant  IS the first external J&J consultant with  external acces to the J&J intranet !

At the moment we are in the development of the ESD (European Sales Database) for
a professional Johnson&Johnson company.

The ESD is / will be a data warehouse based on SQL-Server with a web-based intranet standard application.

According to the J&J standard decision tools the standard application will be a COGNOS OLAP tool. Additional to the standard applications there will be individual applications - tailored software depending on the SQL database.
 
The project is in the realisation phase. Go live will be at the beginning of the new millennium - January 2000.

In the end the access to 23 countries (all European countries + Eastern Europe, Middle East and South Africa) will be available for analysis on invoice line level.

The 23 countries will be available for analysis in the end of 2000 on a daily basis.

 The main challenges are:

Product code harmonisation
Harmonisation of units of measures across 23 countries
Getting the same figures from the database as they are reported to J&J
IT IS OUR MAIN TASK AT THE MOMENT !!

 JOBS / Partnership:

There is a lot of work to do:
 
  System design for new applications
  Development of OLAP cubes (Cognos)
  Development of individual DB-applications
  Development of Procedures for data evaluation
  Support in database/data warehouse management
  Development of intranet applications
